Strategic Plan 2023
The Missouri Hunting Heritage Federation (MHHF) is a service-oriented organization of volunteers who are passionate about Missouri’s hunting history. MHHF introduces youth to an outdoor way of life featuring our hunting tradition, the shooting sports and the enjoyment of being in Missouri’s natural landscape.
Our members organize activities and work to support hunter education initiatives without regard for individual benefit or compensation. We take pride in Missouri’s hunting tradition regardless of method and strive to preserve this heritage for future generations.
Through education and hands-on training, youth learn how to safely handle firearms, gain an understanding of wildlife conservation and are introduced to the many enjoyable aspects of our hunting heritage.
PURPOSE
MHHF exists to introduce youth and their families to the hunting experience.
MISSION
MHHF introduces youth to an outdoor way of life that features hunting and the shooting sports through free, weekend clinics. In this way we pass along Missouri’s hunting heritage in the best and safest way possible.
VISION
To create Missouri’s next generation of hunters.
VALUES
Safety, Consistency, Integrity and Ethics
Our goal is to expand the impact of our hunter education clinic model to create more young hunters across the state of Missouri. The MHHF Board of Directors plan to reach this goal through the following: recruitment, clinics, events, marketing, and funding.
RECRUITMENT
Increase MHHF membership throughout the year.
Increase the number of trained clinic personnel through personal contacts of current members, and network at other Missouri outdoors-minded organizations’ events.
Increase number of members on the MHHF Board of Directors including officers and general directors.
CLINICS
Continue to host annual clinics at current locations from previous years and add a second clinic in the Saline County Chapter.
Increase the number of MHHF chapters by at least two per year.
*The results of this goal would be the creation of two new chapters per year, the addition of 4 clinics in new areas of Missouri, 12-20 new active members, and approximately 24 families introduced to hunting and Missouri’s outdoor heritage. For 2023, we will increase the number of clinics from 8 to 10.
Revise and update the MHHF Clinic Manual.
Host an instructor/mentor rendezvous for the Kansas City region.
Host two New Mentor Orientations, one in Kansas City and one in central Missouri.
Expand MDC involvement in clinics.
EVENTS
Annual Membership Meeting – Increase attendance for the purpose of informing, entertaining, and strengthening our network of volunteers. Invitees to include new and prospective members.

MHHF plans to increase net proceeds, the number of participants, and the number and level of sponsorships and the number of participants by reaching out to previously uncontacted businesses and individuals. The silent auction and raffle shall continue to grow to meet fundraising goals. We will continue with the new scoring system to award winners by class which will give more participants the opportunity to win prizes.
Additional Special Events – To include, but not limit to, one additional fundraising event and one social event.
MARKETING
Expand our network with organizations like the Conservation Federation of Missouri, Missouri Outdoor Communicators, Ducks Unlimited, National Deer Association, National Wild Turkey Federation, Quail and Pheasants Forever, and more.
Promote events on social media, email, website, and other media opportunities.
Update the MHHF website to enhance the user experience.
